She ends up breaking into Ryan Matthews' house, claiming that he destroyed her relationship with Dixon, and threatening him with a bottle of wine unless he fixes everything. A stranger finds her while she is saying random things and acting erratically. The stranger then calls someone to come get her. Dixon and his mother and father find her on the train tracks. Dixon then remembers about his birth mother having bipolar disorder and says that Silver suffers from it also. Dixon calms Silver down and they take her to the hospital. After Silver gets a call from her doctor asking her to set an appointment for her BRCA test, she is distracted and drops a tray of glasses during a scene on set.

She runs away but Liam follows her to make sure she is okay and she tells him about the test. He is in shock and doesn't know what to say to her, and she tells him not to tell anyone yet. Later on at a music festival Adrianna and Dixon are performing at, he apologizes for his reaction and tries to distract her from thinking about the test. They have fun together at first but she is still distracted, he says she should take it otherwise she will just keep wondering and live her life in fear if she doesn't know.

After she has taken the test, she receives a voice-mail from her doctor telling her they need to schedule a review immediately. Vanessa suspects that Liam is cheating on her with Silver because of the amount of time they've been spending together, so he tells her about the test privately and says he is Silver's friend. When Navid comes back for Raj 's funeral he hears about the test from Vanessa and goes to Silver's house to ask her about it.

Silver is angry at Liam because he thinks he told Navid, but they realize it was Vanessa. Later on, Liam confronts Vanessa about all of her lies and kicks her out. That night, after Raj's wake, Liam comes back to find that Vanessa has stolen all of his money that he's worked for. Silver finally gets her results in the mail and seems speechless. Distraught, she goes to Liam's bar and he sees that she is holding the results. She begins to cry and he quickly hugs her, knowing that results of the test must have been positive for the cancer gene.

Both feeling vulnerable, they start to make out and sleep with each other. The next day Silver feels like she made a mistake sleeping with Liam because Navid is back and they would finally have a chance to repair their relationship.

She asks Liam not to tell anyone about what happened and he agrees but is disappointed, as he actually has feelings for her. Navid is happy when Silver tells him that she wants to resume their relationship, and insists on taking her to the doctor. Later on, Navid asks Liam for advice about taking Silver to her appointment as he is the one who's been there for her.

Liam is jealous and tries to subtly manipulate Navid into ending the relationship and going back to Princeton, but Navid takes the advice differently and tells Silver that he's going to stay with her, much to Liam's dismay. That night, Silver goes to see Liam at his bar to say thank you for keeping them a secret and asks why he did since he had a lot of chances to tell Navid during the day, he tells her that he just wants her to be happy and asks if she is, she says that she is happy but he doesn't believe her and kisses her.

She gives in and kisses him back but pulls away saying it can't happen. Liam says he know it can't, but she can't tell him that she doesn't have feelings for him because they both know its not true. While Silver and Navid are at the hospital, a nurse comes out to ask her some questions before her mammogram. One of the questions asks if there is any chance she could be pregnant. When she hesitates, Navid asks her how she could be pregnant, and she tells him she hooked up with a random guy and it didn't mean anything.

Instead of the mammogram, the doctor takes her blood to test for a pregnancy. Navid, who has been confiding in Liam, tells him about how Silver might be pregnant but that it was a random hookup.

Navid says that he is okay with it because it's a stranger's baby. While attending his movie premiere, Liam tells Silver that he knows about the potential baby and says it changes everything, that he left her alone because he thought it was what she wanted but now he knows that they're meant to be together.

Navid sees how intimate Silver and Liam are on the red carpet and figures out that Liam was the random hookup. Silver excuses herself to take a phone call and Navid goes to confront Liam, saying he knew it was him. Liam asks if Silver told him, to which Navid replies, "No, you just did.

Silver goes to the doctor and finds out that if she wants a baby she must do it now before she has surgery. Liam and Navid are still fighting over her but she can't make up her mind. Meanwhile at the bachelor party, Liam and Navid are competing against each other for Silver. The police show up and arrest everyone because they are underage. Silver goes to see them in jail and finds out they were competing for her, and she is basically the prize. Annoyed, she says that she needs to have a baby, and whoever's up for that can have her.

Liam and Navid are speechless, so she leaves. In the season finale, Navid tells her he wants to have a baby with her. At first they are fine and plan to have the baby, but when Navid asks about their relationship, Silver says she hasn't given it thought.

Navid tells Silver he wants to be with her and wants to know that she feels the same and then they can have a baby. At Max 's wedding, Liam tells Silver that he wants her but he's not ready to have a baby. He says he knows that's not what she wants to hear but it's all he can do. Silver repeatedly tries to talk to Liam throughout the episode, but the two never meet. The doctor had good news for Silver " 99 Problems ". Liam tells her that she should give Navid a chance. She talks to him about the pregnancy drama and asks him to convince Teddy that she should raise the child alone. Even though Silver had good intentions, those intentions come back to bite her. Silver again apologizes to Teddy, and says that she was desperate and trying to protect herself.

After Annie tells her about her dream, and says that Silver would never hurt her friends, Silver decides to go back to the clinic and get the forms back. When she arrives, someone tells her that she left a signature on one of the forms blank, so they had to call Teddy.

Teddy is shocked that Silver forged his signature and storms out. Silver later then confides in Navid, telling him that if her embryos are frozen indefinitely, or destroyed, she will never be able to have a baby of her own because if she took hormones again to produce more eggs, the hormones could kill her.

Navid ends up telling Teddy about this, and Teddy confronts Silver. He tells Silver that he does not want that for her, and if she agrees to his terms they will go ahead with having a child. Teddy tells Silver to meet at the Lawyers office.

Silver goes to the Lawyers office, where the Lawyer informs Silver that Teddy has papers drawn up for a surrogate to carry their child. Silver does not understand why Teddy is doing this and holds off signing the papers.

However, desperate to get her last chance at having a child, she agrees to meet the surrogates Teddy has picked out. When Silver finally chooses her surrogate, it is Michaela , Shane's sister and the girl who Navid met and hooked up with at the bar.

At first Silver is very controlling of Michaela's actions, wanting her baby to have the best possible chance at being healthy, but after a heart-to-heart with Michaela she realizes that being such a control freak isn't what's best for her baby and loosens her grip. When Dixon comes to her and tells her that Michaela has a great singing voice and real talent, Silver is happy for Michaela but doesn't think anything will come of Dixon's discovery. Later, when she discovers that Dixon has secretly signed Michaela to his record label and is working on an album with her, Silver is at first mad but then agrees to help them produce Michaela's new music video.

Shortly after, they find out that Michaela is pregnant. While this is happening, Silver and Adrianna begin to develop a shared interest in Mark , Naomi and Annie's half-brother and cook at the Offshore.

Not wanting to harm their friendship over a guy again, they make a pact stating that Mark is "off-limits", but later Silver breaks that by having sex with him while the rest of her friends are out having a girls' night.

Teddy's follows her out and apologizes for not signing the contract in the first place, because he knows she would have been a great Mother. Teddy then asks if there's any way they can fix their friendship. Silver tells Teddy she's honestly not sure, but wants no one else but him to hug her. Later that night, Adrianna and Navid get caught up in an explosion. In the finale, We All Fall Down , Silver hears what happened and worries that that Adrianna might not make it as the last thing she said to her was awful.

While Adrianna is trapped under the rubble, they are able to phone each other and make up for all the mess. But things soon take a turn for the worst when Silver gets a call from the Doctor: She has breast cancer. Outside, Silver breaks down and tells Dixon that she has cancer.

Dixon gives her a pep talk, saying she has to keep fighting until she can fight no more. He also tells her that he and the rest of the gang will always be by her side. Silver thanks Dixon for always being there for her, and if she ever does have a child, she wants it to be just like him. Silver says a tearful goodbye to Annie, who is moving to Paris, and watches Adrianna and Navid being pulled to safety into an ambulance. Silver is last seen hanging out with Dixon when they receive a text message from Naomi saying Annie and Liam are engaged.

With the intervention of yet another daughters family the Wilsons , Jackie was confronted again about her addiction, as the Wilson's contacted Kelly and filled her in on the situation.

Kelly relayed the truth and stated that she was concerned about her sister, since she didn't want history to repeat itself. The two argued as Silver came in. Silver tried to calm Jackie down but her efforts were in vain. It was revealed that Silver never told Kelly about Jackie's situation because she was aware of the fragile relationship between her sister and her mother. Kelly then took Silver with her and stated that she'd be staying at her place for the time being.

Jackie mocked Kelly by pointing out that she was already raising Sammy without the father. The two then left as Jackie saw them exit. Jackie's second appearance in occurred in the episode "Off the Rails. Jackie was seen entertaining a younger gentleman and kept referring to herself as Kelly and Silver's "aunt. Jackie also says that she always knew where Silver was when Silver lived with her. In the second season Silver and Jackie have started to bond with each other more as a result of Jackie's sobriety, and Silver tells Kelly that she should spend more time with her but Kelly declines, having been let down by Jackie too many times.

Silver and Jackie's relationship grows to the point where Silver attended Jackie's AA meetings, but when Silver found out that her mom was trying to buy her affection by buying her a new car Silver stopped talking to her mother.

Jackie tries to make up for missed time by throwing her birthday parties for all the ones she missed, however Kelly is still trying to decide if she wants her mother to come back into her life.

She is reluctant because of all of the pain and suffering she put Kelly and Silver through over the years. Kelly finally decides to see her mother for the last time to support her and Silver. Jackie then dies in Silver and Kelly's arms. In the third season of Silver decided to organize a fundraiser for cancer to honor the memory of her late mother. Naomi tells Silver the if Jackie was alive she would be proud of her hard work. In the fourth season of Silver discovers that she has the cancer gene like her mother and her other relatives.

When Navid's sister goes missing Silver says it's normal and she used to do it when she was living with Jackie and ended up coming back to the house later. Jackie is also mentioned when Ivy is struggling with her dying husband Raj. Silver talks to her and says that her mother died of cancer and she knows what she is going through. In summer, Ethan has gone to see his dad in Montana, and Silver has to choose between Ethan and Dixon. It is revealed that Ethan is staying for good with his dad in Montana, and Silver chooses Dixon.
