Why is eastenders omnibus not on sunday
There has been a round-up of the week's episodes on Sundays since the programme first aired in , but, to the horror of 'Enders fans, from now on the chance to catch up will be This slot is closer to the original transmissions and will be more consistent as it will not need to be moved for sporting commitments. Many fans of the soap will find it difficult to see the late night showing. Viewing figures for the first week of the change stood at ,, as compared with , for the final Sunday omnibus the previous week.
Facebook Twitter Email Whatsapp. April 12 AM. Facebook Twitter Email. It is too late for her. It is too late for me too. I would have thought like other soaps there would be more repeats rather than changing from the one good time to a silly time.
The repeat on BBC3 at the same night is not a good time. If I am out and miss one it is likely I will not be back for Not only should Sunday stay but more repeats would be better. Very bad idea - the BBC are loosing the plot! I always catch up on a Sunday afternoon - now I will watch something else.
Au revoir Eastenders!!! Hi, I am from Holland. I always looked Eastenders on Sundays here. Luckely I have seen on this site that Eastenders is now only be seeing here at midnight. I am a great fan of Eastenders. I don't like to stay awake at night. Why did you do this? I have missed a lot of Eastenders now.
Greetings from Holland. I think that the BBC should appreciate that Sunday Eastenders helps bring families together in a way that iplayer simply doesn't. In a year when we were promised that there would be some refuge for people to escape from the Olympics, it seems a tad silly that the most popular programme on the BBC is being re-scheduled to make room for more sport.
Hi, another post from The Netherlands. For years i've been watching Eastenders Omnibus on a sunday afternoon. The new timescedule is not convenient at all with a bunch of little children who need their mum to rise and shine early saturday morning. Can you at least help me to watch the episodes through internet? The BBC Iplayer doesnot work overhere I would be very greatfull if you could! Yes of course some people can watch it on their computers but I go and visit a friend with no computer and we watch together on Sundays and make it a social occasion.
We have been doing this for many years. And I am quite sure there are families who also watch it as a family ie during daytime hours. So very angry at this decision. I work nights Mon-Fri so cannot watch EE during the week.
Sunday afternoons have always been perfect for me to catch up as the hubby goes out and I can watch quite happily whilst the beef is roasting away. With hungry mouths to feed etc, they are luxuries we just can't afford. We don't even have a video recorder now as it was almost older than the universe.
I have sat and watched this weeks EE on i-player and the quality was rubbish. My dear old PC also wants to snooze every 30 mins if I forget to move the mouse. I am not able to feed the PC to the TV as there are 2 floors between them. I'm old fashioned and think PC's are very solitary so won't have it in the front room as that is where we do family things.
Also don't think this change has been advertised very well. I knew that it had been moved from last Sunday but presumed that was to do with it being Easter. None of the TV mags have highlighted the change either. I thought if instituates such as government and public bodies intended to make permanent changes, they were supposed to have a public consultation period.
I pay my licence despite the fact that I watch very few BBC programmes. Now apparently, I'll be watching even less. Well i suppose it doesn't really matter anymore, as we all have BBC iPlayer.
But what I would like to ask is that older episodes are out back onto BBCiPlayer, or another site, as some of them are my absolute favourites! Once again you are taking action that does not suit European viewers.
An omnibus viewing in the middle of the night is not likely to attract a large audience, so please do not pretend it is an improvement in consistency. If your policy is to select viewing hours that are more compatible for other regions of the world, so be it. You should state this clearly : a fair deal for everyone whatever the time zone may be. James Lattimore says we all have iPlayers.
We do not. I don't know where he lives but iPlayer is not available in my country of residence, Switzerland. Why change the EE Ominbus to Friday nights after all those years? Just don't get it EE is going to lose viewers and not everyone has access to Iplayer or catch-up tv. Change it back to Sunday afternoons please!
Sooner rather than later! I'm not happy Holland here, As a regular viewer I must say I'm not happy with this change. Well, we can use it but at a ridiculous price per 6 months so that's not an option. Luckily I have a hard disk recorder so I can tape it but when I read all the reactions above it might be time to reconsider the decision of changing the EE-slot. And while you're at it: do lobby for free I-player for us Dutch so that our English remains up to scratch when you lot come to visit!
Look upon it as an investment Eastenders Omnibus on a Sunday was the hilight of the week. It was a good chill out with a cuppa. So late on a Friday night is total rubbish, whoever had that ridiculous idea?! I think this is utterly stupid. I'm a pupil still. How am I suppose to stay up this late after a long day at school. Is the BBC slowly reducing viewings for Eastenders so they can get rid of it completely or somethig.
Cos soon I have beenn watching Eastenders for ten years. And I love it too much to lose it. My family heart it so much!!! Who was the bright spark that had that idea? Seriously, half the population are sleeping at this time? Bin all the other garbage that is on on a sunday like Rivercity??
ITV is the opposite with the soaps being Repeated ten fold! Even BBC2 or 3 at a more civilised hour?? This is ridiculous who on earth is going to be awake to watch then?
I don't have sky plus and work so will now no longer be able to watch. I think this is really unfair and not well thought out at all.
But Sharon and the Mitchellbrothers and Ethel were still in it! It's almost a ritual, I make tea and relax on the sofa while watching. Sure, it can change time Flog it! Explain that! I won't be watching at night.
I won't be watching at all. Stupid is what this is Due to work arrangement I cant watch Eastenders in a week so was always looking forward to catch up on Sunday! I am so angry why do we have Formula 1 on and all other sports most of the day??? Eastenders made the day for many of us! Who will watch on Saturday night?!!! Its far too late!
This is SO wrong! Please can we have Eastenders back on Sunday afternoons as we all watched the 2 hours or so in one go after sunday lunch - sure if a BIG sporting event comes along then move it but to one of the other channels at the usual time - but NOBODY is going to watch it at new time - as licence payers can we vote it back? Its a BBC flagship after all and great viewing.
Sundays will never be the same!!! Who's ridiculous idea was this!! I don't get to see Eastenders during the week, on a Sunday look forward to, after all chores and preparing Sunday lunch, to sit down and watch the omnibus, my time for 2 hrs to put my feet up and watch my favourite soap!!
Yes can be taped, yes can be watched on iPlayer , but not same!! Been on Sun afternoons for 27 yrs, what are you thinking!!! Why not put on BBC3 on a Sunday afternoon? Midnight on a Fri! Somebody has lost the plot!!! I have watched Eastenders since , but this time at night is ludicrous Why show old movies on Sunday afternoon instd of the omnibus?
You might as well kill a soap that's won lots of awards for BBC For me, Eastenders is over and gone, not in the back of a black taxi like so many of its characters, but brutally killed by BBC This entry is now closed for comments. Perhaps the same can be done with Formula 1. Do you mind moving it later so we can fit a film on at pm on a Friday night? That's a shame, it's nice to catch up on a Sunday afternoon. It's a bad move.
